Knit fabrics are made from a single thread looped through itself, not from crossing warp and weft, and the loop is what gives them stretch no plain woven cloth can offer. The family runs from the stockinette jersey of every t-shirt to the uncut loop pile of terrycloth, and the renders here show the loop structures themselves.
